The touring choir was chosen by audition to sing at St. Patrick's Cathedral and the American Bible Society. They also held impromptu performances at Ground Zero, Carnegie Hall, the Statue of Liberty and the Today Show. They visited many famous New York sights, saw a Broadway performance and were able to participate in a song & dance workshop with the cast of another Broadway production.
The Touring Choir performed in France and England in July, 2004. They were selected to sing during a concert at Notre Dame and observed the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy by performing at the Cemetery of American War Dead and visiting Omaha Beach and the Caen Peace Museum. Other performances included the American Cathedral in Paris and Christ Church in Watford, London.
The Lyric Singers traveled to Isesaki City, Japan, August 7 - 14, 2002, as performing ambassadors from the Springfield Sister Cities Association. Our trip provided the opportunity for unequaled musical and cultural exchange. Our singers and staff remain friends with their hosts today!
